One-off Events:

Friday 15 November - first rehearsal, Benefice Choir

 

THE BENEFICE CHOIR - CHRISTMAS 2024.

If you enjoy singing, do please come along and join the Benefice Choir for Christmas - all music is provided. You might just want to come along to the first rehearsal, have a listen, and then decide whether you wish to join in - hopefully you will - and you will be very welcome. This year the choir will be singing at Norton Church Carol Service on Sunday December 15th at 6.00pm and also at Chiselborough Church Carol Service on Monday December 16th at 6.00pm.

So that I have some idea of numbers, and can therefore prepare music etc, please could you let me know as soon as you can, (certainly before the first rehearsal), if you are going to attend. (Preferably by e mail - or just leave a phone message if we are not able to answer) -Thank you and I/we look forward to seeing you.

Rehearsals will be from 7.00pm until approx. 8.15pm.

Wednesday 20 November - Oil Club Order Deadline

Friday 6 December, or Saturday 7 December - Make your Own Christmas Wreath Workshop

 

Through guided tuition, learn how to make a beautiful mossed wreath for Christmas using fresh foliage and natural decorations. All materials included. Bring your own secateurs. Mulled cider and mince pies included.

Friday 13 December - Music Night

 

Cure all ailments! Alleviate your worries! Ameliorate those toxins! 100% approved, testimonials available! With the extraordinary... Chiselborough music night! (all rights reserved, no actual guarantee of improvements to health)!

Please tell your friends! And bring something along to perform if you wish...

Music begins at 7.30pm as usual at Chiselborough village hall. Performers of all sorts and abilities are very welcome, and listeners too. Entry is by donation - Suggested contribution £3 for adults, £1 for teenagers, under 12 free. Bring your own drinks. Snacks will be available.

Monday 16 December 6pm - Christmas Carol Service

 

Christmas Carol Service at Chiselborough Church. Everyone welcome.


Wednesday 15 January - Talk: Pollinators, Predators and Parasites

 

Nigel Stone will give an illustrated talk about wildlife in a Chiselborough garden.

Time: doors open at 7pm for 7.30 pm start

Cost: £7 Proceeds to go towards upgrading of our wonderful Village Hall.

Talk to include a glass of wine/soft drink. Raffle.

Church events

 

Chiselborough Housegroup continues on Wednesday evenings, in members homes—Bible study, prayer and fellowship. New people very welcome. Contact Chris Howat for details. The Ladybirds Toddler Group has moved to All Saints Hall in Stoke.


Karate

 

Shotokan Karate classes in Chiselborough village hall at 7.15pm. All ages 7yrs - 100yrs old and all experience levels are welcome. Contact Francesca. M: 07942 281008


Mobile Library: monthly on Tuesday mornings

 

The library bus will be near the Village Hall at a time between 9.30 and 10am on these dates for 2024: 23 Jan, 20 Feb, 19 Mar, 16 Apr, 14 May, 11 June, 9 Jul, 6 Aug, 3 Sep, 1 Oct, 29 Oct, 26 Nov.

Our Church is open daily

 

Daily 10am – 4pm : for individual prayer / visitors (except during services)


Church Services : every Sunday morning

 

There is a regular 9.30 am every Sunday with the exception of 5th Sundays when we join together as a benefice and have one united service.


The Fish Van: every Tuesday, 9.20am

 

Not entirely sure this is an event!.. but here’s a quick mention for the weekly visit of Daren’s fresh fish van, enjoyed by an increasing queue of appreciative villagers. Daren stops outside the Village Hall every Tuesday around 9.20am.


There is an independently run village email newsletter, which includes a wealth of practical, social and community information. Typically it is updated and circulated once or twice weekly. If you would like to receive this, please call Alexandra on 881476.
