One-off Events:

Wednesday 15 January - Talk: Pollinators, Predators and Parasites

 

Nigel Stone will give an illustrated talk about wildlife in a Chiselborough garden.

Time: doors open at 7pm for 7.30 pm start

Cost: £7 Proceeds to go towards upgrading of our wonderful Village Hall.

Talk to include a glass of wine/soft drink. Raffle.

Friday 24 January - Quiz Night

 

Kick off 2025 with a Quiz Night! Join us at Chiselborough Village Hall on Friday, 24th January for a fun-filled evening.

• Tickets: £5 per person, or book a table of six for £30.

• Don’t have a full group? No problem – we’ll match you up with a team!

• Includes: Light nibbles.

• Doors open: 7:00 PM.

• Quiz starts: 7:30 PM.

There will also be a cash bar and a raffle during the interval.

Friday 31 January - Fermented Foods workshop

 

1.30-4.30pm : Fermented Foods. Workshop in the village hall. If you missed out last time we ran this popular workshop, here is a chance to join us. Places are being filled quickly though! Cost: £25

Wednesday 26 February - Make a Willow Spring Basket

 

2-5 pm – Workshop in the Village Hall: Make a Willow Spring Basket. Talented Carol Cook will show us how to make our own beautiful spring willow basket and fill it with seasonal bulbs and plants. All materials provided. Bring your own secateurs. Cost £30

Tuesday 4 March - No Dig Gardening talk

 

7pm for 7.30 start: ‘No Dig Gardening’ a talk by Lara Honnor, founder of @skoolbeanz and former colleague of No Dig guru Charles Dowding. Cost: £7 to include a glass of wine. Tickets can be bought on the door.


Saturday 7 June - save the date! - Chiselborough summer garden party

 

Save the date: Everyone is warmly invited to a midsummer garden party, in aid of Chiselborough Church. Details to follow.



Regular Events:

Music Night - monthly, through the winter

 

Cure all ailments! Alleviate your worries! Ameliorate those toxins! 100% approved, testimonials available! With the extraordinary... Chiselborough music night! (all rights reserved, no actual guarantee of improvements to health)!

Please tell your friends! And bring something along to perform if you wish...

Music begins at 7.30pm at Chiselborough village hall. Performers of all sorts and abilities are very welcome, and listeners too. Entry is by donation - Suggested contribution £3 for adults, £1 for teenagers, under 12 free. Bring your own drinks. Snacks will be available.

Church events

 

Chiselborough Housegroup continues on Wednesday evenings, in members homes—Bible study, prayer and fellowship. New people very welcome. Contact Chris Howat for details. The Ladybirds Toddler Group has moved to All Saints Hall in Stoke.


Mobile Library: monthly on Tuesday mornings

 

The library bus will be near the Village Hall at a time between 9.30 and 10am on these dates for 2024: 23 Jan, 20 Feb, 19 Mar, 16 Apr, 14 May, 11 June, 9 Jul, 6 Aug, 3 Sep, 1 Oct, 29 Oct, 26 Nov.

Our Church is open daily

 

Daily 10am – 4pm : for individual prayer / visitors (except during services)


Church Services : every Sunday morning

 

There is a regular 9.30 am every Sunday with the exception of 5th Sundays when we join together as a benefice and have one united service.


The Fish Van: every Tuesday, 9.20am

 

Not entirely sure this is an event!.. but here’s a quick mention for the weekly visit of Daren’s fresh fish van, enjoyed by a queue of appreciative villagers. Daren stops outside the Village Hall every Tuesday around 9.20am.


There is an independently run village email newsletter, which includes a wealth of practical, social and community information. Typically it is updated and circulated once or twice weekly. If you would like to receive this, please call Alexandra on 881476.
