Art in Chiselborough
Here we hope to showcase artwork by some of the very good amateur artists living in our village.
For some years, a fun and sociable Art Group has met weekly. Participants are from Chiselborough and surrounding villages. Discover more about the group here.
Currently this page shows beautiful paintings by Chris Howat. I’m hoping for many more to participate—any village artist is welcome to send me photographs of artwork they would like to be published here.

‘The painting is taken from a photograph about 25 years ago when there were not so many trees in the village. It is a watercolour I painted following an excellent tutorial the Chiselborough Art Group had from a professional artist. Quite a lot of "wet in wet" technique to get the misty areas and I added a touch of white gouache to heighten the mist.’

‘Again, taken from Tony’s photograph, and a watercolour, but this time in Winter’

‘A watercolour of Kerensa Cottage, Fair Place. To get this view I would have had to stand on a very tall ladder in Hempalong field! As I did not fancy that, I had to alter the whole perspective of the cottage using a photo taken from the road.’
